The Product: PS…Pro Longwear Foundation

A couple of weeks ago I bought Penneys/Primark PS Longwear Foundation €5, and had decided to give it a few wears before reviewing, with that done, here goes…

The Test

I bought the lightest shade, porcelain, which I would say was equivalent to MAC NC15. It is a very liquid foundation, I dabbed it onto my face and used the PS Pro Oval Foundation Brush to blend it in (an absolute steal at €4, do buy one). It took a while to thoroughly blend , and it is definitely a full coverage foundation. I would not recommend this for those who like a lighter touch. I was pleased with the finished result, it easily covered flaws, but did not look or feel too mask like, unlike some other long lasting foundations (Estée Lauder Double Wear, I am looking at you!). Nor did I notice a chemical scent, that other reviews mention. I have worn it with or without powder, and it lasts as well either way. It will definitely get you from dawn till dusk, or the reverse!

The Result

This is an excellent product, and well worth the price tag. However, it is not my favourite long lasting budget foundation. Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation feels lighter to wear and has a greater choice of shades. It may be over twice the price, but at €10.49 is still a bargain. One last note…for those not looking for longevity and prefer a lighter finish – all summer I wore Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. This has a lightweight formula, looks invisible on, but makes you look like a more glowing version of you. Though probably not suitable for those trying to lessen high colouring, this is a great foundation, worth the €12.99.
